I just received some projects lately. Most of them are print design job. An IT solutions company needs to revamp their corporate communications, including logo, business stationary, brochure, x-banner, folder, and a cd software packaging. Another company I work for, need a corporate communications. This task including logo and business stationary. The third company needs to have a new company profile and a website. Not to mention bunch of projects are waiting.
I’m really excited with these things, since I only did very few project in graphic design. These tasks will give me opportunity to explore my print design concept. But I have small problems here, especially on the equipments. I don’t have a proper PC monitor. My one and only monitor is 15″ unknown monitor and it’s horrible, it doesn’t show a fit color on the screen. It’s darker than it should be. What a cloudy monitor :D. It’s 5 years old monitor, so what do you expect.
Another one is its CPU. I feel it’s very slow when I’m deal with a print design work. I suppose AMD Duron 700 can’t handle those tasks anymore. Opening Photoshop and Freehand at the same time will eat the resource, so darn fast.
So I’m considering to buy a new monitor, upgrading my RAM, and/or buy a new weapon. For the monitor I think I will choose an LCD monitor. 17″ is enough. For the new weapon…I don’t know..if someone offers me a second hand of PowerMac or Powerbook, I will pick it.
Meanwhile I should stick to my “best friend”, my lovely PC. Always by my side for the last 5 years.
Update:
I just brought a 17′ Samsung LCD monitor, SyncMaster 710v. It’s too good to ignore, a refurbished monitor for only IDR 1.7 million. I took it because it’s good price and I need it so bad. Now I have a brighter and wider views. I almost forget what a beautiful colors in here :).
Pheew…thank God, finally I finished one project. I really in a low motivation. Perharps too much project with tight deadlines. I read Jason’s post about productivity tip and I think it’s right. I really have so many things to do lately and I don’t know how to finish it. I feel like I want to finish all at the same time. So thank you Jason for the great tip. Finally one project is done. Another projects are waiting.
Right now I’m in the same situation as Matt in his post, too much work and forget when the last time I’m entertaining myself. I should take a break for a while. Enjoy life with movies, dvd, gaming, read books, as long I’m not touching my works.

Perharps it’s kinda late. I just found that finally Apple launched the new Macs with Intel Core Duo for its processors. People already waiting for this revolutionary thing, always wonder how is this ‘Intel inMacside’ performance.
iMac, with Intel Core Duo, iLife ’06, Front Row media experience, Apple Remote, built-in iSight. Also with the new ATI Radeon X1600 graphics processor, it will be a great overall performance. The benchmark shows with Intel Core Duo, the iMac will runs twice-threetimes faster than G5. Wow..imagine that.
MacBook Pro, this is the new name for Powerbook series. Powered with two processors (up to 1.83GHz) engineered onto a single chip. It provides 2MB of Smart Cache, L2 cache that can be shared between both cores as needed, ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 for superfast graphics performance, 15.4-inch widescreen display. Also it’s four times faster than the G5. It’s the dream weapon for graphic artists. Man..I’m dreaming :D.
A little note about the MacBook Pro website, it’s a very slick design with black color, white and grey text. But I think that grey color will be a problem. Almost unreadable, especially the small grey text on the bottom and the right side. I think a white text will make it better.
I just watch a tv serial about a homicide detective. It’s the first time I saw the serial so I didn’t catch the story. In this episode, the detective had an accident (I guess it’s happened on the previous episode). After recovered, he just realize that he can see the world in color. Before the accident he had a color disability so everything look the same, black-grey-white.
So now he can see his friend’s eye color, he can enjoy the painting on his room, etc. That made him very excited.
Then I’m trying to put myself in their shoes. How it would be if I can enjoy a colorful life. Man, that’s a disaster. Perharps I can’t be like I am now. So thank God for that. Now I have a new prespective about designing the website. I think we should think about those people with disabilities like low vision user or blind, motion-related disabilities. They have the rights to get clearly information from the websites.

Do you have the biggest dream in your mind and you feel like you can give anything to reach it? I think everyone has their own biggest dream. I have one. My dream was started when I was in high school. It’s almost impossible to get it. Only with a help from God then I can do that. I mean with my financial condition it’s very hard to make it real :D. Of course if I have a lot of money that should be no problem and that wouldn’t be my biggest dream.
But today I have a feeling that my biggest dream will come true. I’m on the way to realize it. Of course the number one rule is keep on praying, and that the thing I will do :). So after hear the news I feel so excited and can’t hardly wait for it. That feeling in other way make me work faster than before. It’s just like someone has hit my “restart” button :D. Can you imagine that you have a dream and you’ll find out that it will happens? That’s what I feel right now.
I’m sure this is the best way to resolve all my personal problems that I carry at my shoulders for years. So thank you Sirs and Madam for giving me the opportunity.
Anyway, what’s the dream you’ve talking about? Uhm..I’ll tell you when the time is right :).
I just closed my previous blog at Antiklimaks. Like I said, it’s hard for me focusing on many things at the same time in this situation. I need to centralize all the things in one place. So here it is, my new website has arrived and I hope all of you may enjoy visiting this place.
