Usually I go to church every Sunday. My church is Indonesian church located at Narimasu. But of course we had some Japanese there. Most of them (Indonesian) are labor and most of them are young. At least when they came here for the first time. I really salute them. They came without proper visa. Brave young and dangerous people :D. Maybe if I had some money back then, I will join this force :D.
Last week my church community had a summer picnic to Oarai, somewhere outside Tokyo. Because in Japan, most of all companies, factories, and other activities were off, it’s summer holiday. Back to the event, they had a barbeque, games, and of course went to the beach. Our group will join Oarai and Gunma churches. Totally more than 100 people on that day, I think. Guess why I couldn’t join them o.O.
So I made another plan. Fortunately, there was the Summer Sonic 2006 music festival. It’s a two-days festival. In Tokyo and Osaka, with five stages, Marine, Mountain, Sonic, Urban/Dance, Beach, and Island stages, plus a K-Sound stage. I think it’s similar with Woodstock.
On the day one, they had Metallica, Deftones, Hoobastank and many more. Day two, they had Linkin Park, Muse, My chemical romance, Massive Attack, DJ Shadow, and more. I want to see Deftones and Metallica, but 2-days ticket is too expensive. So the best choice was Sunday ticket. I’m a big fan of Massive Attack and DJ Shadow **thanks to Riplen**.
On Sunday, I went at 10. The event will start at 11. I catch the train to Tokyo Station, from there I took the train heading to Chiba Marine Stadium. Luckily, I saw so many people with yellow wristband and t-shirts written Summer Sonic 2006. So I just follow these people :D. I’m sure I won’t get lost hahah..
After a long way, we arrived. It’s just amazing in Tokyo. I saw around twenty thousands people in there, and no police **I imagine how if it’s in Jakarta**. This is why I love Tokyo so much. We can enjoy the concert peacefully. I don’t have to prepare for fights and girls can enjoy the show safely, and nobody will sue us with that silly Pornography Law because of what we’re wearing.
I ran into the indoor stadium, Makuhari Messe, because DJ Shadow and Massive Attack will perform in there. Linkin Park will be performing in Chiba Marine Stadium.
But I saw all the big performers are in the last show. Damn :D. It means I should wait until 19pm. Linkin Park and Massive Attack will perform at the same time. So I’m sorry Linkin Park, I choose Massive Attack for sure :D.
Long story short, I get into the Mountain stage at 16pm (after went to other stages, saw kewl guys and hot-sexy chicks around) because I had a surpise at Mountain stage, they will have Fort Minor, right before DJ Shadow and Massive Attack. Too good to be true!
I make it shorter, all performers were great. But the most attractive performance went to Fort Minor. Mike Shinonda is just great. And we had a surprise, he brought Chester on the stage as a guest performer. Damn, I love Fort Minor.
The show ended at 22pm, I came home at midnight. Very tired but it’s fun. I’m looking forward to see Summer Sonic 2007.
FYI, Iron Maiden will come and perform on October 25. I think I should come. The legendary Iron Maiden!
