Sorry for the lack of posts. This week is the busiest week ever. Many things to be done in this week. I almost couldn’t catch my breath. The good thing is I have a new experience with Illustrator. Before this, I almost never use Illustrator for print design. I always use Freehand. I think Illustrator is great, and I will explore deeper.
I have two clients that need a company profile and other print materials. Both of them are unique, I think. None of them are aware about their brand and none of them have the understanding of visual communication. Client A, for example, an architecture consultant. We all know that architecture is related to art and design. At least they’re aware about the aesthetic. But they don’t :D. I designed a company profile that represent the elegance and professional by using silver and black color for the cover, and overall style is minimalist and widespace. At the meeting they’re not satisfied with that. I should educate them about why I chose that style, blablabla. Finally they agree with it.

Yes, I’m happy right now since my monitor has came. Now I have a brighter views. Also I can use a higher resolutions such as 1280×1024 pixels. That’s awesome. Of course it will increase my creativity.
But I have a little problem about the view. I feel that the pictures isn’t sharp. There’s a little blurred on the outline. I don’t know whether I’m not adjust it correctly or it’s just my feeling because I get used a dark screen before. The fonts don’t look good on my eyes. I already adjust the monitor by its software, MagicBright. It’s only correct the brightness and other color profiles. Not the image itself.
So I just one problem left. My productivity. The CPU still hunger for resources. Make a brochure takes 3 hours or so. Imagine that :). I’m thinking to expand the memory. Now I have 256 Mb of SDRAM. I should get 512 Mb minimum. If could, I would expand it to 1 gig. That’s not the best solution though. BUt it’s the cheapest solution at the moment :D. Buy a new CPU will cost me much, either it’s a Pentium or AMD. Did I hear someone said, buy a Mac? :).
Pheew…thank God, finally I finished one project. I really in a low motivation. Perharps too much project with tight deadlines. I read Jason’s post about productivity tip and I think it’s right. I really have so many things to do lately and I don’t know how to finish it. I feel like I want to finish all at the same time. So thank you Jason for the great tip. Finally one project is done. Another projects are waiting.
Right now I’m in the same situation as Matt in his post, too much work and forget when the last time I’m entertaining myself. I should take a break for a while. Enjoy life with movies, dvd, gaming, read books, as long I’m not touching my works.
Here are the things came into my mind:
Those are my options. Now it’s time to choose.
